Horácio Teixeira Pinto was born on January 20, 1927, and by the age of 18 he had already mastered the art of pottery. At that time, he developed his own technique for producing the traditional clay oven, widely used in the construction of bakery ovens. His technique was so successful that even today the clay oven is produced exactly as Horácio made it. Horácio’s clay oven gained recognition and was passed down through generations. After his children, now his grandchildren proudly carry on his knowledge.
Using a careful selection of clays, with high refractory qualities, we have produced the Horácio Clay Oven using the same technique since 1945. A firing cycle of 8 hours at up to 1100ºC provides the necessary resistance for the most demanding conditions. It requires proper installation and insulation for perfect operation. Available from 50 cm up to 150 cm in base diameter.

Horácio Teixeira Pinto was born on January 20, 1927, in the parish of Chapa, in Amarante. His first contact with clay came at the age of 8, working in a small pottery.

At that time, the young apprentice would remove impurities from the clay so it could then be ground, sifted, kneaded, and finally used by the craftsman. In those times, many children had to work and study at the same time to help support their families.

Horácio had other jobs, but at 18 came the most important milestone when he reconnected with clay. He began producing clay kitchenware in a small company, and it was there that he first improved his clay oven (or clay pot) production technique.
